Alternative rockers SINDUST has made great progress since being formed
several years ago. Some notable career
highlights
include the following……………
- In 2001, their Kiss Of The Napalm CD, and
its single Progress Of The Lowly
Worm, were
nominated as Best Hard Rock Album
and Best
Hard Rock single of the year at the
Just
Plain Folks Music Awards.
- In 2001, lead vocalist Chris Donley was nominated
as Best Hard Rock Songwriter of the
year
at the same event.
- SINDUST arranged and headlined and event called
Explosion 2001, putting together
12 bands
and 2 techno DJ's………all sponsored
by Pepsi,
Guitar Center and Verizon Wireless.
The event
drew close to 2,000 fans and allowed
SINDUST to donate $1500 to Domestic Violence, Special
Olympics and Associated Charities.
- In 2002, SINDUST was chosen as one of 18 bands (out of 260)
to compete at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Battle Of The Bands, where they placed 2nd.
- SINDUST showcased at the 6th Annual Millennium Music
Conference in Harrisburg, PA and
at the 2002
MPMF Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio.
- In 2002, MTV approached SINDUST and used several songs off their Kiss Of
The Napalm CD on the MTV hit show Undressed.
- A bit later, MTV uses SINDUST music again on the Undressed series, this
time using tracks from the Sucking
The Inspiration
disc.·
- MTV brought in SINDUST to perform for cast & crew of their
hit show Jackass during filming at the Snowtrails
Ski Resort.
- Played at the 2003 Lollapalooza event at
Blossom Music Center after winning
the WMMS
100.7 FM Lollapalooza Contest, beating
out
over 100 other bands.
- SINDUST won the Erie, PA Battle Of The Bands contest
in 2006.
